2019 RN-BSN Program Supplemental Application

Thank you for your interest in the CSUN RN-BSN Nursing Program. We commend you on your decision to pursue a Bachelor degree, as professional Nurses are needed to provide evidence-based clinical care and leadership in the current healthcare environment.

The RN-BSN program at CSUN program is a traditional four or six semester program, designed to enhance the skills of the RN in areas of leadership, public health, research, information literacy and the latest trends in Nursing practice. The courses are taught by highly respected and approachable Professors who are considered experts in their specialties and who understand the needs and challenges of the RN-BSN student.

In addition to teaching services, we also have a highly competent and expertly trained staff to assist students in navigating the University system to meet the requirements for a timely graduation. We look forward to reviewing your application and hope to see you in our program in the future. 
***SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE COMPLETING THIS APPLICATION***

STUDENTS WHO HAVE ALREADY EARNED A BACHELOR DEGREE IN ANY FIELD WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR ADMISSION.

The CSUN RN-BSN Nursing program requires completion of TWO separate applications:

1. University Application: accessible on Cal State Apply
Deadline: November 30, 2018

2. Department of Nursing Supplemental Application (which you are currently in the process of completing):
Deadline: January 31, 2019

Once you have submitted your applications, send your official transcripts from all Institutions attended and additional credits, such as Advanced Placement scores, verifying completion of all transfer courses and prerequisites to CSUN Admissions & Records. Applicants will not be admitted without being accepted to the University AND the Department.
Minimum requirements to apply:
- Eligible to transfer to CSUN
- Associate Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma from an Accredited Institution
- Will have earned, or possess, a current license as a Registered Nurse in California by start of Fall 2019 semester
- Eight specific prerequisite courses:
     - Written Communication
     - Oral Communication
     - Critical Thinking
     - Statistics
     - Anatomy lecture & lab
     - Physiology lecture & lab
     - Microbiology lecture & lab
     - Chemistry lecture & lab
- All prerequisite classes must be completed with a "C" or better
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and minimum prerequisite GPA of 2.0
