Application: Healing Arts Career Pathway (HACP): Building Skills for a Holistic Health Workforce

HACP is a two-year program designed to support young people ages 18-24 living in the East Bay Area. Selected participants will receive career and life skills coaching focused on the connections between the arts, wellness, and healing practices. Through hands-on training and mentorship, you will deepen your understanding of what you learn and explore career and leadership opportunities in the healing arts. As part of a vibrant cohort, you will use your new skills in to initiate community projects that reflect your unique perspectives and needs as young people from across the East Bay.

Selected applicants will receive up to $4,000 upon completing the first year of the program paid in monthly installments. Stipend is dependent on attendance and participation.

In the second year, you will transition into "community of practice" to support your pursuit of career opportunities within the healing arts. With continued participation in Year 2, you will receive priority access to contract opportunities through Destiny Art Center's healing arts programs.

By taking part in this program, you will gain hands on experience in:
  • Somatics & Healing Rituals: A holistic approach that engages the entire being through body-focused practices that address physical, mental, spiritual, and historical dimensions of the self.
  • Embodied Leadership: Leading through enhanced self-awareness and body-focused methods to develop the capacity and commitment to achieve one's leadership goals.
  • Movement as a Healing Practice: Utilizing physical activity to foster personal and communal well-being.
  • Art and Nature as Healing: Exploring the therapeutic benefits of creative expression and the natural world.
  • Leadership and Life Skill Development: Building critical skills for personal growth and professional leadership.
  • Facilitation: Practicing the art of guiding groups and creating meaningful rituals.

Year 2 Meeting Schedule: 2nd Saturday of Every Month

Residency Ends: May 23, 2026
