The American Physical Society (APS) and the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) established the EP3 Editorial Board to review and update the Effective Practices for Physics Programs (EP3) Guide. For more information about the EP3 Board please visit the EP3 Guide Team webpage.

Elected members serve staggered 4-year terms with two members elected annually.

This seat will serve from January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2029.

Membership is a significant responsibility. Board members are expected to attend all meetings and fully engage with Board activities, including subcommittee assignments. Members participate in monthly meetings of the EP3 Editorial Board and subcommittee meetings (approximately 3 subcommittees that meet throughout the year, scheduled on an ad-hoc basis) In addition to the in-person meeting, the total time commitment is typically around forty hours annually.

Nomination process:

After nominations are collected, organizational liaisons, in collaboration with members of APS Committee on Education (COE) and AAPT’s Committee on Physics in Undergraduate Education (CPUE), produce a final slate of applications for election.

The APS Committee on Education (COE) will review nominations and elect nominees at their Fall meeting. We will contact you with their decision following the meeting.

Nomination deadline is Monday, August 14, 2024.
