Goldsboro 2050

Introduction

The Goldsboro Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is updating its Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Greenway Plan.

The 2050 MTP will consider all modes of transportation including driving, walking, biking, and taking public transportation and is a key step in the region’s ability to secure federal funding for transportation projects.

The Goldsboro Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Greenway Plan was originally created in 2015. The current effort will update this plan to reflect the many ways that the region has changed over the last 10 years. The Goldsboro MPO Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Greenway Plan will communicate a vision and clear path towards making the Goldsboro region more walkable and bikeable.

These two plans are joining forces to improve transportation for everyone in the region, regardless of how they chose to get around. The goals are to enhance mobility, increase accessibility, support economic development, and ensure safety.
