Very concerned. I believe global warming is an urgent threat, caused primarily by the burning of Fossil Fuels, and affecting us here and now. I strongly support climate policies.

Concerned. I believe global warming is happening and caused by burning of Fossil Fuels, but it's not a high priority threat. I'm not so sure it's happening here and now. Yet I would support some climate policies.

Undecided. I haven’t made up my mind yet: Is global warming happening? Is it human-caused? Is it urgent? Is it happening here and now? I don’t know that much about it, but want to learn more. I might support some climate policies.

Not worried. I believe global warming is just a natural cycle, not caused by human activities, and is not a serious risk. I don't think climate policies are needed.

Doubtful. I don’t think GW is happening. I think it’s a hoax or conspiracy. I am strongly opposed to climate policies.

On-site solar is the best climate solution! Please support students to get solar for Carmel schools. CGI's youth advocacy program empowers Carmel youth to advocate for climate solutions, such as a climate resolution and climate action plan. See more.

Get involved and share your expertise to help implement the CAP quickly.
The Climate Action Plan includes 7 Sectors:
Education - Energy - Transportation - Water & Wastewater - Solid Waste - Local Food & Agriculture - Greenspace

SUSTAINABLE LIVING SEMINARS
Education is foundational to building a more sustainable community. We host Sustainable Living Seminars at the Carmel Library to raise awareness on a wide variety of topics. You'll work with a team to plan and organize the seminars that would require about 1-2 planning meetings prior to the event plus assisting at the event.

SUSTAINABLE LIVING ARTICLES
Do you like to write? Join our team to write Sustainable Living articles for the Current in Carmel. It's a great way to raise awareness in the community. We cover a wide variety of topics. You will work with the team to select a topic, research and write 2-3 short articles a year.

HELP SOLAR GROW
Solar is one of the most powerful ways to reduce carbon emissions. CGI hosted its first solar tour in 2010 and its first solar workshop in 2017, and partnered with Solar Untied Neighbors (SUN) in 2019. Together, we've helped more than 100 homeowners go solar! This community education initiative runs year round. We could use help organizing more solar workshops!

EARTH DAY ART CONTEST
Celebrate Earth Day through art! CGI hosts the Earth Day Art Contest to raise awareness about energy conservation and earth stewardship for K-12. This community education initiative runs from October to May. There are several ways to participate! You can volunteer for just a couple hours!

WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA
Are you tech savvy? This is a great way to promote sustainable living programs. We could use some help year round for an average of about 2-3 hours a month. Website - Facebook

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
We could use help staffing CGI table at community events throughout the year. This is a great way to meet people and let them know about local environmental sustainability efforts. This volunteer opportunity requires little preparation and are limited to a few hours per event.
