1) Introduction
You are invited to take part in a survey about the suitability of specific web pages for your learning on the given topic.
Before you decide whether or not to participate, it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Therefore, we kindly request you to read the following information, so you know what the research project is about, what we expect from you, and how we will process the collected data.
Based on this information, you can use the consent form to indicate if you consent to participate in the research project and consent to the processing of your general personal data. Please ask questions about anything that is not clear or if you would like to have more information.

Contact Details of the primary researcher:

2) Purpose of the Research
The overall purpose of this research is to better understand how the knowledge that people have on a topic affects their perception of the usefulness of different web pages when they are searching the web for learning about that specific topic. This understanding will help us design more effective search algorithms for learning on the Internet that helps people learn faster by taking their current knowledge level into account. This study is conducted as part of the DoSSIER project which is a European Commission Horizon 2020 project on information systems for professional search which is being pursued jointly by the Research Studios Austria and TU Wien.

3) Why you?
We are looking for people who occasionally use the internet for learning and English is the primary language they use for learning.

4) What will you be asked to do?
We will first ask you to complete a brief demographics questionnaire which will be used only to create a general profile representing the participant group on which the data is based. The demographics to be collected are: 1) Gender, 2) Age-range, 3) Education Level, and 4) Occupation sector. After that, there will be a multi-choice quiz with 12 questions that give us insight into how much you already know on the topic.
The last stage of the survey will show 10 web pages to you and you will be asked to rank the web pages in increasing rank from the ones you think are more suitable (i.e ranks 1,2,...) for learning about the topic to the ones that you think are less suitable (i.e ranks ...,8,9,10).
