The Maccabiah Games, often referred to as “The Jewish Olympics” takes place every four years in Israel, and host to over 10,000 athletes from 80 countries.

It is the world's largest Jewish athletic competition and the second largest sporting event in the world - in terms of number of athletes competing - after the Olympics.

In July 2022, The Scheinberg Family Canadian Delegation included close to 600 athletes and staff.

The Maccabiah, originally created in response to growing antisemitism in Europe in teh 1920's, has become one the greatest Jewish/Israel experience for participants. For many it is their first trip to Israel, and for all, it serves as a life changing experience that strenghtens their love for Israel in the most powerful of ways.
