With thanks to a generous and heartfelt donation from Newcastle Permanent employees, 9 healthcare professionals will be awarded a conference scholarship inclusive of full registration to the Palliative Care NSW 2024 State Conference and 2 nights of accommodation in Tamworth.

These scholarships will be awarded to those who show a commitment to the provision of quality palliative care in any setting (community, hospital, residential aged care), and who wish to further their knowledge and learning.

These scholarships are aligned with Local Health Districts & Primary Health Networks where Newcastle Permanent operates, largely being in regional and rural areas of NSW. You do not need to be a member of Palliative Care NSW to apply for these scholarships.

Applications close midnight Friday 4th October.

Important Information
  • You must be available to attend the Palliative Care NSW 2024 State Conference, commencing 2:30pm on Thursday 31st October and concluding at 2:00pm on Saturday 2nd November. Visit the conference website here, and view the latest program here.
  • Accommodation will be provided, but travel to Tamworth will be your responsibility.

The Scholarship includes:
  • A full conference registration including attendance at all sessions, the Welcome Reception and Celebration Dinner (valued at $905.00)
  • 2 nights of accommodation in Tamworth (Thursday 31st & Friday 1st November)
Eligibility
  • Open to anyone currently working in palliative care in the LHDs or PHNs listed below (ie Specialist Palliative Care professional, Allied Health professional, Residential Aged Care professional, or GP); or
  • Open to any Registered Nurse in an acute care setting who wishes to improve their knowledge and understanding of palliative care to improve their patients and families experience and outcomes.
