With recent federal policy changes that encourage hospitals to allocate charity dollars for housing, many hospitals realize it’s cheaper to provide a month of housing than to keep patients for a single night.

Learn about HUD Multifamily Financing Resources including 221d(4) and 223f programs and 811 programs.
Section 3.
The Section 3 program requires that recipients of certain HUD financial assistance provide training, employment, contracting and other economic opportunities to low and very low income persons, esp. recipients of government assistance and to businesses that provide economic opportunities to low and very low income persons. Recommended attendees include the entitlement cities & their contractors, Tulsa County, PHAs, City of Tulsa, OHFA Grantees and Department of Commerce.

A panel of speakers will provide information and updates on the Governor’s Homeless Strategic Plan, the Homeless Youth Strategic Plan and available financing resources including Veteran and Youth Vouchers.

Many states are considering overturning their rent control bans. Other states are instituting rent increase limits but no allowing local governments to do so. This explores some of the key considerations such as does it work, where/when it is effective and unintended negative consequences.

A review of the best data and talking points to show that affordable homes are also about educational success and developing the capability of future generations.
