NOMINATIONS FOR TPI BOARD OF DIRECTORS (You may vote for each position): Board President, KYRA PEYTON Statement: I am a dedicated advocate for mental health with a strong background in business and a passion for making a difference. With 18 years at CSAA IG, a top property and casualty insurance carrier, I bring valuable expertise in areas relevant to TPI's success, including customer retention, building loyalty, and fostering innovation within organizations.While many board members at TPI are clinicians, my extensive business experience adds a unique and valuable dimension to the board's skill set. Holding a BA from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the University of San Francisco, I possess a solid foundation in both business strategy and leadership. Additionally, I hold a Design Thinking certification from IDEO, am a PROSCI Certified Change Practitioner, and a Six Sigma Green Belt.I have been serving as the current board president of TPI for the past 8 months. My dedication to TPI is fueled by my passion for making a positive impact and a deepened understanding of the organization's mission and goals. Board TreasurerStatement: Board Member-at-Large, BITA AZIZI Statement: Bita's story begins in Berkeley, California, where she has lived for 28 years and purchased her first home 24 years ago.Education is a priority for Bita, who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UC Berkeley and prioritized the same values for her children, who graduated from Berkeley public schools.Bita's professional journey began as a Realtor at Prudential, now BHG Mason McDuffie, and later at Coldwell Banker Realty. She has served as a Realtor in Alameda county and Contra Costa county for nearly two decades. Despite market challenges, her dedication to connecting people with homes or helping people transition through different stages of lives remains unwavering.Outside of work, Bita is involved in her community. She served on The Bridge Association of Realtors board for four years and supported various organizations including the Education Community Foundation and St. Jude Children's Hospital Research Center. Bita's journey is one of community, courage, and compassion—a testament to the power of perseverance, empathy, and living life to the fullest. Through her stories and experiences, Bita hopes to inspire others to embrace challenges and connect with community, whether it be through philanthropy, facing fears, or finding joy in everyday moments. Board Member-at-Large, BEVERLY BURCH Statement: I practiced psychodynamic psychotherapist in Berkeley for over 40 years and have now closed my practice. In the past I served on the Executive Board of TPI for four years as Vice-President, as a supervisor for 15 years, and have taught in the SSP, the PGTP and community classes. My doctorate in Clinical Social Work is from The Sanville Institute. Socio-culturally informed psychodynamic theory has been a focus of my writing and teaching in recent years. I have a special interest in helping to create a repair process after interpersonal harm has occurred in the Institute. Board Member-at-Large, EASA CAMORONGAN Statement: I am a licensed clinical social worker with over two decades of experience providing mental health services for individuals and families in the Bay Area. My background includes extensive work in non-profit community-based mental health, supporting children, teens, and young adults involved in social services, child welfare, and juvenile justice systems, along with their families. I've held various roles in non-profit settings, from counselor to clinician, clinical supervisor, manager, and program director, gaining experience and expertise in program development, organizational leadership, clinical training facilitation, and integrating Diversity,Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in clinical approach to services. I am currently a psychotherapist in a private group practice, specializing in mental health services tailored towards athletes and performers, in addition to maintaining an individual private practice. I am an adjunct professor in the Applied Sport and Performance Psychology program at Dominican University of California, where I teach counseling skills and diversity classes to graduate students, contributing to the growth and development of future sport and mental performance professionals in the Bay Area. I am excited to be a member of the TPI community as a member of the DEI Committee and Holmes Report Reading Group. Board Member-at-Large, JUDY MARGULIS Statement: I am a graduate of the Supervision Study Program, and a long time supervisor at TPI. I have served on the Board since November of 2023. I am retired from private practice and continue to do consultation. I am excited to continue to serve on the board during this enlivened transition time. Board Member-at-Large, VICTORIA MELUCCI Statement: I currently serve as an interim appointee on the TPI Board. I bring over 20 years of experience developing processes and controls in the insurance and financial services sectors. I currently work in strategic operations for an insurance company, where I manage a team of professionals who execute company goals. I have a long history of volunteer engagement, most recently serving as the Director of Operations for The Afara Collective, an organization dedicated to dismantling systemic racism through education. I graduated with honors from St. Mary’s College of California’s Executive MBA program and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Sonoma State University. Board Member-at-Large, CLAIRE SHIFRENStatement: Claire is a Senior Financial Advisor at Summitry. She primarily works with the Private Client Group and appreciates being in the trusted role with clients needing to make significant financial decisions who seek partnership and sound perspective. She believes managing finances is like a jigsaw puzzle where there may be initial challenges in putting pieces together, but tenacity and discipline help a picture come clearly into focus. Claire is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and obtained her CFP® in 2011.Prior to joining Summitry, Claire earned a degree from the University of California, Davis in 2000. Having almost two decades of tenure with Summitry, she derives great value from the decade’s long relationships with clients and in serving the next generation. Claire guides clients towards investment management strategies which fit their goals and objectives best. She also takes care and in coordinating the partnerships for clients in other areas like estate and tax planning.Claire is a Bay Area native and recently relocated to Portland, Oregon with her family. She lives with her husband, two young children and two English Bulldogs. Being in the Pacific Northwest she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, gardening, and on rainy days will be found indoors with a crossword puzzle and good cup of tea. Done
