2020 Virtual Fall Student Research Symposium |
Registration and Abstract Submission (Deadline: September 9th, 2020)
The University of the Virgin Islands' 21st Annual Fall Student Research Symposium will be a fully online experience. Students will pre-record oral presentations to share the results of their summer research projects. A live Q&A session will take place on Sunday, September 27th at 1:00pm via Zoom. The community is invited to participate and show their support. This event is organized by the Emerging Caribbean Scientists (ECS) program in collaboration with the College of Science and Mathematics.
Undergraduate students interested in presenting their summer research project are required to complete this registration and submit an abstract by the deadline. More details about the presentations and Q&A format will be provided to students that complete the registration.
JUDGING
Presenters will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on their oral presentation, visual materials, research content, and ability to answer questions. Judges will score the presentations and provide feedback. Students that receive high scores may be offered fully funded travel awards to present at a national research conference.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Before completing this form, make sure your abstract has been reviewed and approved by your mentor. The length of your abstract should be about 200-250 words. Our abstract guidelines are available at https://www.uvi.edu/files/documents/ECS/abstract_guidelines.pdf. You must submit a one page Microsoft Word or PDF file formatted to size 12pt Arial font.
