Linguistic Family Group Conference Coordinator Survey

Feedback form

At Relative Strength CIC we are always looking for innovative ways of working, and an area that we now wish to explore is linguistics. Standard 7.1 of the Family Group Conference standards for practice stipulate that - The FGC service should recognise that each family is unique and will include a range of identities and experiences. The FGC service should be guided by the family to ensure the FGC is organised, resourced and facilitated in a way that is sensitive to the family’s culture and enables all family members to participate in the decision making.
With this in mind we are looking to develop a bank of multi linguistic FGC coordinators who can be deployed within various localities to convene Family Group Conferences in the families native tongue. This will ensure inclusivity, equality, and that nothing is lost in translation. This will also prevent additional interpretation costs.
We would really welcome your feedback as to whether or not you feel this would be a useful resource for your service to engage with.
