Proposed next Internationals

When: 7-10 July 2025.
Venue: Lake Cootharaba, Queensland

Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club runs many National and International events and is part of a small community, Bareen Point near Noosa, Queensland.
The lake is about 5km by 8km and close to the coast, about 20km from the centre of Noosa.
At that time of year, the temperature would be similar to NZ at Easter and the average wind is around 10 knots.
This area has strong tourist appeal so your trip could be considered purely for the sailing event, or you could extent it for tourism purposes.

At our last AGM in January, our members showed interest in resuming International contests and further discussions with our Australian counterparts have led to this proposal.
This means that the upcoming Nationals will be a selection regatta for a National team.

We are keen to generate support for this proposal and defend our title in Australia!
1.There are several unknowns at this stage the biggest being we do not have a sponsor, so cost is unknown.

Our last estimate for a container was around NZD 36 000 to Coonawarra (NSW) to give you some idea.
Split between 20 boats, this would be NZD 1800.00 each.
Sailors would also have to pay for regatta entry, flights, accommodation, transport and sundry costs.
