Background: The MHLS Techops team has provided core training in cataloging and circulation training, plus brief single topic lunchtime webinars. Beginning with the Covid-19 closures, the lunchtime webinars were stepped up significantly to provide weekly opportunities for library staff to have distance learning while working from home. At this time we would like to step back and evaluate what we are offering and reach out to the member libraries for feedback on future training development.
Issue: We need to better understand the needs of the membership for training, understanding that this includes in the immediate time where staff may not be in the building, in the next phase where staff may be in the building without the public, and the future when we are back to being open to the public. To get a better sense of what the members hope to achieve through training we ask that the survey be completed by Directors, supervisors, and staff to gain the most comprehensive understanding of the training needs.
