This is a survey about buildings, building codes, and seismic upgrades, intended to collect educated stakeholder opinions.

The survey is part of a larger research project titled "Alterations and Seismic Upgrade: The Building Code as Mitigation Policy." It is funded through a grant by the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (www.eeri.org), but the survey was produced by the researchers, not by EERI. Additional contact information for the researchers is provided at the end of the survey.

The survey should take only 10-15 minutes to complete all three parts.
- The first part is about your experience.
- The second part is about building alterations and seismic risk.
- The last part is about when a seismic upgrade should be required by the code.
