Truck parking capacity is a nationwide problem. Continued growth in truck traffic is outpacing the supply of public and private parking facilities needed for driver rest, decreasing safety for truck drivers and other vehicles on the road. Safety is the FHWA’s top priority, and helping to ensure that commercial drivers have a safe place to rest is part of that goal.

Please join the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) on September 23, 2021 at 2:00 -5:00 PM Eastern for a virtual meeting to solicit feedback on the Truck Parking Guidebook. At this meeting, participants will hear about current Truck Parking Guidebook aimed at local and regional officials and we need your input. The workshop will:

 •Summarize the truck parking challenge

•Introduce the guidebook and truck parking estimation tool to state and local officials

•Share case studies on estimating truck parking demand and lessons learned

•Solicit feedback on the guidebook and tool through interactive discussion sessions
