Evacuation Planning Handbook Evaluation Survey

Would you like to contribute to the evaluation of the Evacuation Planning Handbook (AIDR, 2017)?

Would you like to contribute to the evaluation of the Evacuation Planning Handbook (AIDR, 2017)?

The Evacuation Planning Handbook was revised and re-published in 2017 and forms part of the Australian Disaster Resilience Handbook Collection.  The purpose of the handbook is to provide authoritative guidance to people within government and its agencies, non-government organisations and communities on how to plan for the orderly management of an evacuation before, during and after an emergency or disaster. The handbook outlines the nationally agreed principles for evacuation planning, using the nationally recognised five-stage evacuation process as a framework. The handbook incorporates guidelines for developing evacuation plans that can be applied in emergencies and disasters impacting communities, that may arise from a wide range of hazards.

The Evacuation Planning Handbook (Handbook 4) (AIDR, 2017) is published on the Australian Disaster Resilience Knowledge Hub:
https://knowledge.aidr.org.au/resources/handbook-4-evacuation-planning/

The purpose of this survey is to evaluate how the updated 2017 edition of the handbook has been adopted and implemented and how the handbook has supported people and organisations in their evacuation planning activities. The survey will also give us a better understanding of the level of awareness of the handbook and its impact.

The survey is divided into 4 sections:

I.              Knowledge, use and impact of the handbook

II.            Structure and content of the handbook

III.           Community recovery experiences,  challenges and opportunities

IV.          Demographics - your profile

This survey targets handbook users and non-users. Taking part is anonymous and should take about 10 minutes.

Your participation in this survey will help ensure the national community recovery handbook reflect and support the needs of the broad cross-section of users.

Thank you for your support.
