Call for Sessions

The 22nd Annual Financial Education in Oklahoma Conference will provide an opportunity for local financial education service providers and stakeholders to gain an understanding of programs currently being offered in the state, share experiences, and learn about new strategies and resources to support their efforts.

The 2025 Conference theme is ‘Innovations in Practice’. Sessions will explore innovative policies, programs and delivery methods that can expand and support Oklahoma’s financial education field. The goal of the conference is to provide participants information and tools to increase their ability to provide quality financial education services to their constituencies.

You are invited to submit a proposal for a concurrent session during the conference. Completed proposals should be submitted by Friday, December 6th.

Participants:
Approximately 150 participants are expected representing financial education service providers such as public school teachers and administrators, financial institution staff, CareerTech staff, Cooperative Extensionists, community-based educators, financial planners, credit counselors, homeownership counselors and others from the nonprofit, public and private sectors.

Information about the concurrent sessions:
  • Each concurrent session is one hour.
  • Approximately 25 people will be in each session.
  • Limited audio-visual aids will be available on an as needed basis.
  • Sessions can be of a wide range of formats: workshops, panels, case studies, etc.
  • Presenters may attend the conference at no cost.
Topics of interest for the conference include but are not limited to:
  • Innovative methods, curricula and resources for teaching financial education.
  • Programs for reaching specific populations such as youth, elderly, cultural groups, workplace, TANF clients, Native communities, etc.
  • Policy and program approaches and solutions for issues such as identity theft, gambling abuse, bankruptcy, post-secondary education savings, etc.
  • Linking financial education to other development services such as homeownership, planning for retirement, small businesses, domestic violence intervention, tax preparation services, job training, etc.

Session Selection Criteria:
The following criteria will be used in selecting sessions:
Session relevance to conference focus and goals. Session uniqueness, innovation or timeliness.
Appropriateness of session design to subject. Collaboration among organizations.
Expertise and credibility of presenter(s).

Submission Process:

Completed proposals should be submitted by Friday, December 6th. Presenters will be notified in mid-December of the status of their session proposal.
