* 10. In Moyne Shire almost half of the waste (42.5%) in an average household garbage bin is made up of food scraps and garden waste. The contents of the garbage bin goes to landfill. This food waste would be turned into compost if it was put in the greenwaste bin.

The greenwaste bin has been successful in diverting grass clippings and garden waste from the garbage bin, however more diversion of food waste from the garbage bin into the greenwaste bin is required to minimise environmental and financial costs.

We would like your help to understand what might be preventing households from using the greenwaste bin to dispose of more of their foodwaste. Please select any of the reasons below which might apply to your household.
