Fairfield CSD Community Input Survey |
In 2021, The Fairfield Community School District asked the voters (referendum) for a new $30 million Middle School Building that the voters did not support. The results from that vote communicated to the School District and we listened. We took a step back and began a long-term facilities master planning process. The Architecture and planning firm, FEH Design, was engaged to facilitate this process. In 2020, a facility assessment was completed and recently reviewed by FEH Design. From this assessment it was identified that there are hundreds of thousands of dollars that need to be invested into each of the four (4) school buildings for maintenance and ADA requirements. The School District recruited a 40-member advisory task force from across the community, to take a look at the long-term vision for the district’s facilities. Members of this group participated in eight (8) meetings and two (2) days of design workshops. The Advisory Task Force has concluded and has given their recommendation to the school district. We want to gather as much feedback as we can and let you know about the 20-40 year master plan options and potential short-term projects. The School Board wants to make wise decisions that align with the long-term visions and the financial capabilities of the community so funding is not expended in a short-sighted way. Please take a few minutes to respond to this important survey. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the school district at 1-641-472-2655 or Dr. Noll at laurie.noll@fairfieldsfuture.org.
