Forres Conservation & Heritage Scheme: Proposed Grant Funding |
REGISTER YOUR INTEREST
Dear Property/Business Owner or Occupier
The Forres Conservation & Heritage Scheme (FCHS) this is a partnership project with support from consultants and the community and funded by Historic Environment Scotland (HES), National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
We are currently in the development phase and aim to submit funding applications for a 5 year delivery phase this August. If successful, we expect to launch the delivery phase early 2025.
One of the main focuses will be around the regeneration of the conservation area through the repair of the town centre’s historic building fabric.
A range of potential ‘priority’ buildings have been identified by consultants LDN Architects based on their general condition and position within the conservation area.
In the delivery phase we will look to carry out other surveys and appraisals to determine which other shops and properties could benefit from essential repair works.
Owners of these properties could be eligible for grant funding to carry out external repair work and shop front improvements.
Financial details for the scheme(s) have not yet been finalised, however grant funding may be available at a rate of 50% for eligible repairs.
Currently, we are contacting owners/occupiers within the conservation area to gain an understanding of the level of interest there is for a grant scheme and identifying owners, addressing any potential issue of multiple ownership of buildings.
We would appreciate if you could complete the online survey to let us know if you would consider taking advantage of the proposed grant funding.
Thank you in advance
Kindest regards
Forres Conservation & Heritage Scheme Project Team
