LSLI Survey

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is required to know the material of pipe leading from the water main in the street to homes and businesses. This survey will ensure your water pipe is not made of an unsafe material, like lead.
TO IDENTIFY YOUR SERVICE LINE LOCATE THE SERVICE LINE WHERE ENTERS THE HOME(COMING UP FROM THE GROUND OR COMING THROUGH A WALL IN BASEMENT). If the pipe is covered or wrapped, expose a small area of the pipe. Use the flat edge of a screwdriver or other tool to scratch through any corrosion that may have built up on the outside of the pipe. If the scraped area is shiny and silver, use a magnet to see if magnetic. If it’s NOT magnetic, shiny and silver it IS LEAD.
