EDITORIAL: Meets monthly the first Thursday, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. via Zoom Conferencing. Responsible for planning, soliciting articles, editing, and publishing the Society's official publication, Sierra Sacramento Valley Medicine

HISTORICAL: Meets at the call of the chair, 12:15 – 1:30 p.m. via Zoom Conferencing. The main interest of this committee is the maintenance and collection of historical artifacts relative to the history of medicine. Committee members can volunteer to research local medical history, produce new oral histories, and serve as docents for museum school tours. The committee maintains the medical archive and museum at the Medical Society headquarters.

PUBLIC & ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH: Meets monthly, third Tuesday, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. via Zoom Conferencing. The committee studies public health and environmental issues that affect the health and well-being of our community

SCHOLARSHIP & AWARDS: Meets twice a year, 5:30 – 6:30 pm via Zoom Conferencing.
• Reviews and makes recommendations for recipients of the SSVMS Medical Student Scholarship Fund.
• Recommends to the SSVMS Board awards for members of the Society such as the Golden Stethoscope, Community Impact and Outstanding Volunteer Awards.

Community Service Opportunities

5.SPIRIT PROGRAM VOLUNTEER (SACRAMENTO PHYSICIANS’ INITIATIVE TO REACH OUT INNOVATE AND TEACH)

This program involves placing physician volunteers in the treatment of medically indigent patients in our region. The program includes specialty consults for the Sacramento region’s undocumented residents. Physicians of all specialties are encouraged to volunteer. You will be contacted and provided with additional information upon receipt of this form.

6.COMMUNITY LIAISON: We are frequently asked to locate physicians willing to serve on commissions, committees and task forces representing the Medical Society. Check below if you would be interested in volunteering regarding the following topics.
