Description of the study:
This study is concerned with peoples’ attitudes toward exercise. It is relevant to anybody, including those who do not exercise at all,
through to those who may exercise as professional athletes.
Purpose of the study:
This project aims to gain information about your experience of exercise, how much you do, and how you feel and think about exercise.
Some general questions about you are also asked.
What will I be asked to do?
You are invited to complete a questionnaire about exercise attitudes and behaviours. No more than about 20 minutes should be required.
Using the electronic link you have been provided with, you may complete the questionnaire at a time that suits you.
What benefit will I gain from being involved in this study?
The sharing of your experiences will contribute toward knowledge which has the potential to provide a greater understanding of people
who do, or do not, engage in exercise.
Will I be identifiable by being involved in this study?
We do not need your name and you will remain anonymous in any publications arising from this research.
Are there any risks or discomforts if I am involved?
There is a very small chance that some questions may touch on sensitive life issues for some individuals. We ask that you keep in mind that your responses will be treated as strictly confidential. This research aims to gain a better understanding of the way in which different people think about, feel about, and engage in, exercise. If you have any general questions about the study, please do not hesitate to contact Dr Bond via the address, telephone number or e-mail on previous page. If the questionnaire raises any specific health concerns for you we recommend that you contact your local General Practitioner.
How do I agree to participate?
Participation is voluntary. Your consent is assumed by a completed survey. You may refuse to answer any individual question.
You are free to withdraw completely at any time.
How will I receive feedback?
As participation is anonymous, it will not be possible for us to provide individual feedback about the study.
Thank you for taking the time to read this information sheet.
We hope
that you will accept our invitation to be involved.
