Introduction

There is a shortage of estradiol (estrogen) patches in Aotearoa New Zealand. We are a small group of healthcare professionals, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) / Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT) users, and community members, led by Dr. Samantha Newman, who are concerned about the impact of the shortage on HRT/MHT users and their families. We are conducting this survey to understand how the shortage is affecting people's access to medication and quality of life.

If you are a user of HRT/MHT and you are based in Aotearoa New Zealand, we would greatly appreciate your response to this survey. Your response will help us understand how people are affected, and advocate for improvements in services. The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete.

The survey data is confidential, you do not need to include any identifying information, and the stories you share will be used solely to inform our advocacy efforts, which include raising awareness through media, submissions to government, and discussions with medical practitioners and policymakers. We have received no external funding for this survey or the broader advocacy work. The data will be stored securely and will not be shared outside our group. The survey is not intended for academic research purposes and has not undergone institutional ethics review.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey; your feedback is crucial for our advocacy efforts. Submitting this survey confirms your consent for the data to be used according to the stated purposes.
