LMS Early Career Fellowships 2024-25 Application Form |
Applicant's Details
The LMS Early Career Fellowships are partially supported by Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research (HIMR) through the UKRI/EPSRC Additional Funding Programme for Mathematical Sciences.
LMS Early Career Fellowships should serve as a useful bridge between finishing a PhD and moving on to a further position, in which the holder can collaborate with and learn from people they haven’t worked with before and start new research projects. There is no expectation that grant holders should move institution, indeed applicants are encouraged to think carefully about the logistics if they plan to move, given that securing accommodation for six months can be time consuming and expensive. Nevertheless, the Selection Committee does want to see a concrete plan for collaborating outside of the applicant’s current institution and becoming more widely known within their discipline. The Committee also wants to see that serious thought has been given to the applicant’s employment once the LMS fellowship ends. Finally, applicants are advised to think carefully about their choice of mentor and for both parties to have clear expectations about how often they will meet.
Please refer to the accompanying Guidelines and Conditions of Award before completing this form; this information is available on the website: www.lms.ac.uk/grants/lms-early-career-fellowships.
