Textiles In Correctional Facilities: A Federal Study |
Thank you for participating in our research into institutional textile waste in Canada. This project is financially supported by Environment & Climate Change Canada, and is being conducted on behalf of the Canadian Circular Textiles Consortium.
This survey is to be completed by facility staff who either work in procurement of textiles, or the head of laundry service. Please note that the information we are gathering will not be attributed to any one company. We are interested only in aggregated data to help us understand the challenges and opportunities for the recycling of this material.
For this research, we are interested in understanding the volume, composition and waste management of the following items that come out of facilities and institutions:
- Bedding - defined as bed sheets, pillowcases and blankets
- Towels
- Inmate uniforms
Note: Out of scope are pillows, waterproof mattress covers or mattresses.
