Official of the Year
Background
Officials play a critical role in ensuring the success of our sport at both a grassroots and performance level. It is the dedication and commitment of officials within Netball Queensland that help develop the sport.
The Official of the Year Award recognises an official who has excelled in providing support, development and growth to officials and/or demonstrated a high standard of performance as an official. This person may have performed their role as umpire, umpire coach or bench official.
Criteria
Be a Netball Queensland Member during the award period
Hold a current Netball Queensland Umpire Badge and/or National Bench Officials’ Accreditation (any level eg. C Badge, State Accreditation)
Demonstrated high levels of performance during the award period
Contribution to umpire and/or bench officials’ development
Mentoring initiatives, the nominee has been involved with, either as a mentor or mentee
The nominee’s contribution to their own personal development
Demonstrated ability to unite the netball community beyond just their role as an official
Award Period
The eligibility period for the award is 1 January 2019- 31 December 2019.
Selection of Award Winners
A Netball Queensland Panel and an independent representative will be responsible for selecting the award winners.
Conditions
All information submitted as part of the nomination process may be used for promotional purposes
Netball Queensland staff are ineligible to be nominated for awards
A nominee can only be entered in one category each award period
Previous award winners can enter each award period providing they demonstrate progress and continued development
