* 6. CASTING CALL! We will be holding a casting call for actors and roving musicians beginning at 7:30pm on Thursday, May 2nd at the Griffiths Park Centre. We are looking for actors to fill the following roles. If any interest you, please check them off and join us for the casting call! There's no need to prepare, just show up and we will do a reading with you. Ages teen to senior are welcome!

Town crier - looking for a person with a loud voice who's not shy to shout out the events of the day as they come up.

Mythical creatures like Fairies, gnomes, elves, or fawns to help with the quest and interact with the crowd

Puppeteers to create stories in the Library tent

Insulter - yes, someone who can throw medieval insults at patrons for FUN!

Eddie the Squire - we will need people to don the Eddie mascot costume and interact with the crowd

Shakespearean troupe - a group of actors who are willing to create Shakespearean skits as part of the entertainment

Roving musicians and singers

Most anything else that will fit the theme and shares your talents and creativity. Please let us know what requirements you would have from us. 2 stage or performance areas are in the works. Do you have your own tent and equipment? What size space would you require? Technical requirements? We can offer pop-up 10'x10' tents if required.

The intent of this agreement is to assure you of our appreciation for your services and to indicate our commitment to do the very best we can to make sure your volunteer experience is productive, safe, fun, and rewarding.
a) CANOE and the Town of Edson agree to:
Provide adequate information, training and assistance for each volunteer to be able to meet the responsibilities of their assigned position;
Ensure supervisory assistance to the volunteer and provide feedback on performance;
Respect the skills, dignity, and individual needs of the volunteer and to do our best to adjust to these individual requirements;
Be receptive to any comments from each volunteer regarding ways in which we might mutually better accomplish our respective tasks;
Treat each volunteer as a valued member of the Edson Renaissance Faire Team.
b) The ESS Team member agrees to:
Adhere to the volunteer responsibilities as assigned;
Perform duties to the best of their ability;
Attend all required training and remain current to the best of their ability;
Meet time and duty commitments or to provide adequate notice so that alternate arrangements can be made;
Adhere to the organization policies and procedures.

* 9. I agree to the terms of the Responsibilities of Team Member agreement and submit my application for consideration.

I am aware that there are risks associated with participation in volunteer activities, including the risk of injury or death, and I consent to my participation in spite of such risks. I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and any other who may claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and hereby waive, release and discharge CANOE and the Town of Edson and anyone acting on their behalf from any and all claims of liability for personal injury, loss of life, or property damage of any kind or nature, arising out of or sustained in the course of my participation in Emergency Social Services volunteer activities. This waiver will be valid until April 1, 2025.
