About the Contractor Rating System (CRS) Annual Assessment Questionnaire

SOSi-Administered Annual Assessment

The Department of Justice (DOJ) Language Services Unit has established annual evaluation requirements for all EOIR contract interpreters providing interpretation services through SOSi.  SOSi has developed a proactive interpreter Contractor Rating System Annual Assessment which helps to ensure interpreters meet or exceed LSU requirements and allows for the early detection and correction of deficiencies within the assessment process if such deficiencies are identified.  This Annual Assessment meets the requirements of the DOJ-SOSi prime contract.

The Contractor Rating System (CRS) Annual Assessment includes three (3) components to be completed by and for each contract interpreter:

Part 1:  Review of the Interpreter Master File (IMF) - An annual compliance review of the interpreter’s master file for completeness and accuracy; this is conducted internally by SOSi.

Part 2:  Questionnaire – An online review of the interpreter’s proficiency and knowledge of EOIR court operations and hearing procedures; this is completed by the interpreter.

Part 3:  Interpreter Language Proficiency/Skills Assessment – An Oral Language Proficiency Test will be administered on each active language.
