WE Should Know... What You Think
Welcome to the You Should Know Survey Center. Last month, we asked readers of our Justice Served issue to chose a case they thought would "have the most impact on the health, safety and legal rights of all Americans." While all four cases received recognition, readers were particularly moved by the story of Eric Rice and the loss of his 20-year-old daughter Erin to a series of medical mistakes. Here are a couple of the many outstanding responses we received:
"I know from experience what it is like to have a daughter pass away. I have often wondered if she was misdiagnosed by a pediatric neurologist, but 24 1/2 years have passed and there are days that her death still consumes me. It is not an immediate feeling anymore just a long unanswered question of diagnosis." - Anonymous
"Even though the Rices will not personally benefit from their attempts to change Wisconsin law, they have persisted in working to help others." - Bridget M.
We also chose a winner in our drawing for an iPod Shuffle: Connie R. She told us: "Being the mother of two sons, I can not imagine how a parent would feel to loose a child in such a terrible way. Then to have the parents not be able to do anything about the loss is totally unacceptable."
