Program Overview

DESCRIPTION

The WiTT Member Professional Development Program is designed to support WiTT members in their pursuit of professional development opportunities that will allow them to either advance their existing IT career or transition into the field. Through this program, WiTT members may submit requests to have the costs of their professional development activities covered, either partially or in full, up to a limit of $1,000 per request. These activities include, but are not limited to, training, certification, and conference registration. The requests will be reviewed quarterly by the Scholarships Committee. All WiTT members are eligible to apply; however, preference will be given to applicants who have been members of WiTT for more than 6 months and to those who have not previously received professional development funds.

CRITERIA

To be considered for the program, applicants must be:
· A WiTT member
· A Middle Tennessee resident

APPLICATION MATERIALS

Applicants will need to submit the following materials in order to be considered:
· A completed application
· A resume
· A brief write-up (approximately 250 words) on how the requested activity will advance the WiTT member’s tech career
· Documentation of the activity from the sponsoring organization, including a description and price information

TO APPLY

Please complete the form below and upload the requested documents. The deadline for submitting materials for consideration are as follows:
· Q1 Deadline: March 31 (Awarded in April)
· Q2 Deadline: June 30 (Awarded in July)
· Q3 Deadline: September 30 (Awarded in October)
· Q4 Deadline: December 1 (Awarded in January)

Submissions received after a deadline will automatically be considered for the next round. Awards will be made based upon a combination of fund availability and the Scholarship Committee’s assessment of the merit of the request. A WiTT member can have no more than one request funded per calendar year. Preference will be given to requests from members who have not previously received funds.

PAYMENT

Payment will occur on a reimbursement basis. In order to be reimbursed, recipients will need to provide WiTT with proof of payment and activity completion.
