Award Description:
The Louisiana State Bar Association Committee for Diversity in the Legal Profession will recognize a current member (all categories of membership) of the Committee who has demonstrated a commitment to diversity and has gone above and beyond their role on the committee to address the needs of underrepresented groups or public interest causes. The individual should demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the Committee through their appreciation, connection, and respect for all facets of diversity and makes active contributions to the betterment of the greater community as an agent for social change.It would be awarded by the Diversity Committee annually at the Conclave on Diversity in the Legal Profession.
Award Criteria:
The recipient must be nominated by a current member of the Committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession, selected by the current chair(s) of the Committee on the Diversity in the Legal Profession, and may receive the award once in his/her lifetime.
The recipient should demonstrate the following diversity and inclusion efforts:

Enhances inclusion through positive communication between persons of different backgrounds;

Develops innovative methods for increasing and valuing diversity through wide-ranging activities;

Demonstrates outstanding efforts to promote an environment free from bias and discrimination;

Organizes, creates and facilitates various community events promoting diversity, respect, and inclusiveness.
