Greening the Economic Recovery Package of the Government of India

Policy and investment decisions taken by national governments for economic recovery post COVID-19 will determine if the larger environmental and social challenges facing humanity and this planet are mitigated or amplified. The United Nations, while announcing the guiding principles of the UN framework for immediate socio-economic response to COVID-19 at country level, emphasised on building back better and beyond immediate needs. It is now extremely crucial to steer recovery on a more sustainable trajectory guided by the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. It is imperative upon the nations that recovery is built around Green Economy.
