The American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy is proud to offer a year-long program to provide training and develop the next generation of leaders in the field of blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapy. The program is intended for mid-career ASTCT members residing in the United States and will consist of a 1.5-day in-person meeting to be held April 9-11. 2025 in Washington, DC, one or two webinar-style presentations, and a reception and panel discussion at the Tandem Meetings. Fifteen future leaders will be selected through a competitive selection process. Tuition, travel, housing and meal expenses will be covered by the society for course attendees.

The course is currently being planned with an opening date and time of Wednesday evening, April 9th, however this may be subject to change with an opening date and time of Thursday morning, April 10th.

Objectives and Curriculum
The course is designed to provide a highly interactive experience for future leaders in blood and marrow transplantation and cellular therapy. Topics covered will range from leadership characteristics, problem solving, research enterprise, managing teams, difficult conversations, advocacy, reimbursement, program accreditation, outcomes reporting, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact and network with invited faculty who are experienced leaders in the field.

Eligibility and Application
Applicants must be current, active members of ASTCT. This course is open to all disciplines, including nurses, advanced practice providers, administrators, MDs, etc.
This program is limited to U.S. residents only.
  • Physicians: 5 – 12 years out from completion of fellowship training
  • Non-physicians/BMT Program administrators: 2 – 5 years of leadership experience in a BMT Program
Applicants may or may not be serving as BMT/cell therapy Program directors at their institutions. The program is geared towards those who are relatively early in their leadership role or anticipate taking on a program director role in the future.
