The Bloomfield and Area Business Association and the Bloomfield Recreation Committee are working together with support from The County to improve access to, and the ecology of, the Mill Pond. To do this, an RFP was issued and JAM Design Workshop has been contracted to develop a landscape plan that adds new pathways within Mill Pond Park (accessed via Mill St.) and the Bloomfield Quaker Cemetery (accessed via Main St.) that lead to the pond.
The project team is working with several environmental groups regarding the ecology and health of the pond (e.g. water testing, invasive species, aerators, etc.,) and is considering interpretive panels that tell the historical and ecological story of the pond and park as well as wayfinding signage.
