Corangamite Shire Early Years Education and Care Plan 2024-2034: Community Survey 2024
Welcome
Corangamite Shire Council has engaged specialist consultants Community Child Care Association to undertake planning for Early Years Education and Care for 2024- 2034 for our Shire. This will help us prepare for the Best Life Best Start Early Childhood reforms.
We would be grateful if you would share your views to help inform our planning for the next decade. The State Government’s reforms include free kindergarten for 3 and 4 year olds and transitioning 4 year old kindergarten to what will be referred to as Pre Prep. This will eventually see up to 30 hours of Pre Prep delivered per week by 2032 across the State.
Corangamite Shire owns a number of facilities as well as being an Early Years Manager. We currently offer Maternal Child Health, Family Day Care, Child Care, Kindergarten and manage a Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme for some kindergartens in our Shire. Child Care services are subsidised by the Commonwealth Government and sessional Kindergarten programs are free and funded by the State Government.
We understand access to childcare is very limited in a number of locations across the country including Corangamite. It would be a great help if you could share your views to help inform our advocacy efforts, along with our planning. This survey should not take more than 5-10 minutes and your responses are completely anonymous. The survey will close on Friday 26th January 2024.
The information you provide will be used by the Evaluation Researcher at the Community Child Care Association (CCC) and combined with other survey results to inform Corangamite Shire Family and Children's Services Early Years 2024-2034 Plan. If you have questions about the survey, please contact the CCC Research and Evaluation Coordinator:
