This Award recognises the contributions made to the sport of Baseball in Victoria. One nomination will be accepted from each affiliated Victorian Summer Baseball League Club. One overall winner will be selected and presented with their Award.
1. The nominator will state specific achievement/s during the last 12 months and list work in sport for the previous 4 years.
2. The nominee must have coached in Victoria for a minimum of at least 12 months and list work in sport for the previous 4 years.
3. Nominations on the official form with any supporting documentation must be submitted by Friday 29 March, 2024
4. The panel of judges shall be nominated by Baseball Victoria.
5. Assessment of the nominee will be made only on the information supplied with the Nomination Form.
6. The decision of the Selection Panel is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
7. Baseball Victoria have at their absolute discretion reserve the right to not present an Award should the quality and/or quantity of nominations not be of an appropriate standard.
SELECTION CRITERIA
1. NOMINATION SCREENING
At the closing for nominations, all nominations will be screened by Baseball Victoria staff to ensure they meet the guidelines above.
Any nomination not fulfilling the guidelines will be removed and therefore shall not be considered for selection.
2. SELECTION PROCESS
The Selection Panel shall meet only once and shall determine the three (3) finalists in this category and ultimately the winner.
Each nomination will be judged objectively by the panel, to determine the most appropriate winner in that Year, taking into consideration the following criteria:
• Has achieved outstanding results during the Award period,
• Quality of competition in which the coaching highlight was achieved,
• Demonstrated ability to apply relevant training theory and coaching principles to improve the level of performance of the team or athlete,
• Presents a positive image of coaching and the role of the coach,
• History of coaching service to the nominating organisation.
