The Central Avenue West Corridor Study is just beginning, and we need your input! Please take this brief survey to help the study team better understand your experience along the corridor and to share your ideas for improving it!

STUDY CORRIDOR

The study area includes a three-mile section of Central Avenue (NY State Route 5) from New Karner Road to the Colonie-Niskayuna boundary near N. Alandale Avenue and the land nearby. The study area includes land zoned as Commercial Office Residential (COR), which is a mixed-use zoning district in the Town of Colonie. The study will also consider Albany Street from Cordell Road to New Karner Road as a potential alternative bicycle route. See the map on the following page for the study area boundary.

Of note, Central Avenue in the Town of Colonie is owned and maintained by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) who will be involved in coordination efforts. Central Avenue also carries the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route, and the Study will include coordination with CDTA. This Study is sponsored by the Capital Region Transportation Council through its Community and Transportation Linkage Program.

This study will develop concepts for land use and transportation improvements along the three-mile stretch of Central Avenue from New Karner Road to the Colonie-Niskayuna boundary near N. Alandale Avenue. Please help us by sharing your thoughts in the five-minute survey below!
