Current Acute Brain Injury Monitoring Practices within Intensive Care
Dear Colleague,
Multi-Modality Monitoring (MMM) in Acute Brain Injury (ABI) has rapidly increased in both availability and application in recent years. The 'Current Acute Brain Injury Monitoring Practices within Intensive Care' (CABI_Monitor) survey aims to capture current clinical practice across ESICM members.
We wish to find out if ESICM members are using MMM, which monitors are most frequently being used, and how these technologies are currently being used.
Answers are anonymous with basic demographic data only captured. The survey is voluntary. It uses a simple click-box structure to quantify current practice among a series of domains, whilst exploring common pathological and physiological variables influencing application. The key modalities included are: Invasive Arterial Blood Pressure, Cardiac Output, Intracranial Pressure, Transcranial Ultrasound, Brain Tissue Oxygenation, Near Infra-Red Spectroscopy, Brain Temperature, EEG, Microdialysis, Automated Pupillometry and Artificial Intelligence.
The information gained from this process will inform us of current clinical practices within our field, and guide ongoing research.
Your assistance in addressing this clinical question is greatly appreciated.
