Correen Hills Windfarm Community Council Survey |
Force 9 Energy, in partnership with EDF Renewables UK is proposing to develop a wind farm on the west side of the Suie Road, on the Correen Hills. They will be holding a second round of exhibitions on:
- Wednesday 9 October 2024 – The Clatt Village Hall, Clatt (AB54 4NY) from 3.00 – 8.00 pm
- Thursday 10 October 2024 – Howe Trinty Church Hall, Alford (AB33 8AD) from 3.00 – 8.00 pm
We would encourage you to attend these in person events and visit the dedicated website at www.correenhillswindfarm.co.uk, which will be updated from 9 October, so you are well informed before completing this survey.
In Summary:
- The latest proposal consists of 10 turbines - 8 turbines at 200m to blade tip and 2 at 180m to blade tip.
- The proposed output capacity is to 72 MW
- A Community Benefit Fund of up to £10.8 million over the lifetime of the project, in addition to an opportunity for Shared Ownership
- The application for consent for the proposals is likely by the end of Q1 next year – March 2025. Whilst the application will be determined by the Scottish Governments Energy Consents Unit (ECU), Aberdeenshire Council are a statutory consultee and will provide formal responses to the ECU.
The purpose of this questionnaire is to enable the local Community Councils of Bennachie, Donside and Tap o' Noth to accurately represent the views of the community.
