Virtual inspection project

Connecticut DEEP

In Connecticut, dentists are required to have the best management practices for mercury amalgam separators. According to the law, every dental office should have an amalgam separator installed and well maintained. The purpose of this is to prevent mercury from being discharged into the wastewater and causing environmental damage. The department is exploring a program to conduct virtual inspections of dental offices for compliance with the amalgam separator requirements. The Inspections would be conducted using a phone or tablet and designed to last no longer than 10 minutes or less. The department would appreciate your feedback to determine if this virtual inspection is feasible.
