Question Title

* 2. Outcomes and Objectives (ESEA section 5223(b)(1)): Provide information on program objectives and outcomes for activities under Title V, Part B, Subpart 2, including how the SEA will use funds to help all students meet the challenging State academic standards.

NMPED proposes to use Title V, Part B, Subpart 2 to support LEA Implementation of the Rural and Low-Income Schools Program (RLIS) by:
  • Providing additional grant funding and flexibility to supplement funding received under various ESEA programs to support meeting New Mexico’s challenging State academic standards including Title I Part A, Title II, Part A, Title III, Part A and Title IV, Part A programs
  • Ensuring LEAs use of funds is based on needs identified by each LEA
  • Granting flexibility to LEAs to use funds to support parental involvement activities required by the respective Title programs
NMPED’s measurable goals and objectives for this program will be based on the specific set of activities each LEA has opted to implement aligned with the specific Title program(s).

Question Title

* 3. Technical Assistance (ESEA section 5223(b)(3)): Describe how the SEA will provide technical assistance to eligible LEAs to help such agencies implement the activities described in ESEA section 5222.

NMPED proposes to provide PED-staff lead technical assistance via:
  • Targeted webinars on RLIS grant funding
  • Presentations at NMPED-sponsored events
  • Email communications to LEAs and the field
