Call for Food Trucks

BECOME A FOOD TRUCK VENDOR AT CHALK THE BLOCK
Food truck vendors are invited to apply for the upcoming MCAD Signature event happening this fall. Join us for the 17th Annual Chalk the Block Public Arts Festival, hosted by the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) in partnership with the El Paso Community Foundation.
ABOUT CHALK THE BLOCK
Chalk the Block (CTB17) is a signature El Paso event that transforms downtown into a vibrant cultural hub. Experience sidewalk chalk art competitions, live music, and immerse yourself in local food vendors offering unique homemade products. The event also features large-scale temporary public art installations, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for attendees.

**EVENT DETAILS**
- Dates: October 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2024
- Location: Downtown El Paso
- Hours of Operation:
- Friday, October 11th: 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Saturday, October 12th: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Sunday, October 13th: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

**Vendor Set-Up:** Begins at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 11th (specific arrival time provided at orientation)

**Overnight Stay**
You must leave your food truck overnight; security will be provided.

**APPLICATION INFORMATION**
-To apply as a food truck vendor at Chalk the Block, please submit your application by September 1st.
-We're seeking vendors who offer original food products that reflect the spirit of the event.
*FEES and PERMIT NOTICE*
General City of El Paso Vendor Permits are not necessary as the event includes permitting.
Food Trucks : $500
The Market Food Trucks: $400 (You must be in good standing with The Market to participate and receive discount)
APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Applications must be received by September 1st, at 11:59 pm MST. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Submission of application does not guarantee acceptance.

*Accepted food Trucks will be notified by September 10th and charged a fee for their space. Non-paid fees will mean forfeiting your space.

*Vendors are responsible for all operation equipment and supplies. NO EXTRA TENTS OR SITTING ALLOWED.
*Spaces are limited and will be selected through a Chalk the Block Panel Review.
*PARTICIPATION IN 2023 EVENT DOES NOT GUARANTEE SELECTION FOR CTB17.
*NO OIL DUMPING OR FOOD SPILL WILL BE ALLOWED, IF THIS OCCUR, FOOD TURCK WILL BE REMOVED FROM ELIGIBLE LIST. TRASH AND REFUSE, AS WELL AS ALL HAZARDOUS MATERIAL MUST BE TAKEN AND DISPOSE OF PROPERLY.

*HEALTH DEPARTMENT WILL CONDUCT INSPECTIONS BEFORE THE EVENT, AND THEY WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY VENDOR WHO IS NOT FOLLOWING PROTOCOL OR PROCEDURE*

VENDING GUIDELINES and EVENT LOGISTICS

· Spaces will be assigned and numbered on the pavement on the morning of set-up.

· Space assignments will be emailed out 24 hours before the event begins.

· Space Assignments are final.

· Vendors MAY NOT reassign themselves but may trade with another participating vendor if approved by the coordinator.

· Spaces are Non-Transferable.

** All parties involved in violation of this rule will be barred from the event and future participation.**

· Access to electricity is NOT provided.

· Light towers will be provided in the general vendor area and throughout the event footprint

· Vendor pass (given during the day of the event) must be displayed at all times in booth. Vendors without their pass will be asked to leave.

· All vendors must be set-up and ready for business on time and maintain full operations throughout the event.

*MCAD staff will not tolerate harassment of any kind in advance of, during and after the application process and event.
