Scholarship Overview

DESCRIPTION

The WiTT Member Scholarship Program is designed to support WiTT members in their pursuit of a technology degree (graduate or undergraduate) that will allow them to either advance their existing IT career or transition into the field. The $5,000 scholarship can be used at any accredited college or university headquartered in the United States, although the recipient must reside in middle Tennessee. Two scholarships are awarded each year, one in June and one in January. All WiTT members are eligible to apply; however, preference will be given to applicants who have been members of WiTT for more than 6 months and to those who have not previously received a WiTT scholarship.

CRITERIA

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must be:
· A WiTT member
· A Middle Tennessee resident
· At least 2+ years out from high school, home school, or receiving their GED
· Accepted to or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an IT focus at an accredited college or university headquartered in the United States

APPLICATION MATERIALS

Applicants will need to submit the following materials in order to be considered:
· A completed application
· A resume showcasing your experience and community involvement
· A maximum 500-word essay describing their career goals, how their chosen degree program advances those career goals, and the impact that the scholarship would have on their ability to pursue that degree

TO APPLY

April 15th for the fall scholarship (awarded in June for the upcoming fall semester)
December 15th for the spring scholarship (awarded in December for the upcoming spring semester)
