The employer catalog is used as a tool for students to locate employers that accept one of our many Summer Stipends. Please fill in the information as best as possible. The stipends are described below so you can best choose which one your organization accepts.
PUBLIC FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The Public Fellowship stipend allows continuing law students to explore summer legal opportunities with Oregon public employers and non-profit organizations that would otherwise be unpaid. The Public Fellowship award is $5,600, paid in three installments over the summer months. To qualify for the Public Fellowship stipend, students must work for an Oregon public employer or a 501(c)3 organization.

CLERKSHIP STIPEND PROGRAM
The D&I Department will contribute up to $9.00 per hour stipend toward the student’s summer employment wages. Employers in the Clerkship Stipend Program must agree to match at least the $9.00 per hour stipend. The hourly wage will not exceed $18.00 with the employer contribution and D&I department match. The D&I department reimbursement will not exceed $3,750.

Prior to the student’s first day of employment, the employer submits a stipend agreement which the employer has signed to the D&I Department. The employer can expect a stipend reimbursement within two weeks of submitting a signed timecard showing the hours for which the student worked. The employer is responsible for paying the student’s wages for all hours worked directly to the student.
AREA SPECIFIC CLERKSHIP STIPENDS
The Business Law Section is donating funds to help provide one or two $3,750 stipends to students who choose to work in the area of business law for the summer of 2025. The application process is the same as the clerkship stipend. Efforts will be made to distribute this opportunity to students from different law schools each year.
The Environmental and Natural Resources section is donating funds toward one $3,750 stipend to a student who chooses to work in the area of environmental and natural resource law for the summer of 2025.
The New Tax Lawyer Committee (NTLC) is donating funds for one or two $7500 stipends for students who choose to work with one of the NTLC Program Partners for the summer of 2025. Eligible program partners include Legal Aid Services of Oregon LITC, Oregon Law Center LITC, Lewis and Clark LITC, the Oregon DOJ Tax and Finance Section, the Oregon Tax Court, or the IRS Chief Counsel's Office.
