About CITES

The Center on Inclusive Technology & Education Systems (CITES) at CAST is working with district teams to build a framework for creating inclusive technology ecosystems. The CITES Framework will foster the intentional collaboration between educational technology, assistive technology, and information technology systems in districts. Such systems will not only benefit students with disabilities, but will benefit all students, their families, and the system itself.

Nominate a District with Great Infrastructure Practices

The CITES Framework is being built on evidence-based practices that can support and sustain an inclusive technology ecosystem to create equitable and accessible learning opportunities for all students. To kick off this process we need to learn from districts that have experienced success on the ground in their districts, and we need your help to find them.

These Knowledge Development Districts (KDDs) will make a short-term commitment to share information about what has worked in their school system by completing a 20-minute online survey and participating in a one-hour virtual interview with members from the CITES team. As such, we are currently recruiting KDDs to showcase success stories and lessons learned in inclusive technology ecosystems, specifically technology infrastructure practices in which educational technologies, assistive technologies, and information technologies teams collaborate. Do you know a district that we should talk with? Is this your district? Please consider nominating them or yourself!

Nominations are due by midnight ET on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
