Welcome to the Weighted Risk Survey!

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Office of Childhood (OOC), with assistance from the National Association for Regulatory Administration (NARA), is developing a Child Care Licensing Indicator method of inspection for licensed Family Child Care Homes, Group Child Care Homes, and Child Care Centers.

One component of the process is the development of a Weighted Risk System. Weighted Risk Systems assign a numerical value – or weight - to each rule that reflects the level of risk to children in care if the rule is violated.

NARA has developed this survey to gather your input on the level of risk for each rule, where you will assign a number between 1 and 10. The number reflects the level of risk to children in care if the rule is violated, where a higher number reflects a higher level of risk and a lower number reflects a lower level of risk.

Your participation in this survey helps ensure that the final weights for each rule are fair, accurate, and reflective of your opinions about which rules pose the greatest risk to children if they are violated.

Thank you for helping to shape the future of child care licensing in Missouri!
