CCS School Board Candidate Conversation Priorities- Revised 9/20
Carmel Clay Public Library Foundation, Carmel Education Foundation, and One Zone have partnered to host three separately recorded conversations with the 2022 Carmel Clay School Board candidates by district.
We aim to create a thoughtful, unbiased and nonpartisan atmosphere where each candidate has an equal opportunity to respond to questions centered around themes that Carmel community members, by way of this survey, have noted as significant. The role of a school board member is robust and we invite you to rank what you feel are the most important themes to be part of these conversations. This will guide what questions are asked. Here is a brief description of the themes listed as well as how they relate to policy and governance.
School Board members serve four year terms. Of the five board members, three represent a district and two are “at-large”. Voters may vote for one candidate per district in the 2022 election for a total of three candidates.
Collectively, we advocate that voters are informed about the role of a school board member, as well as policies and procedures that guide the district. All resources including policy and referendum detail can be accessed at https://www.ccs.k12.in.us/board/board-members.
Recordings of the conversation series will be released on each of the presenting organization’s Facebook pages by October 10th to provide information prior to the start of early voting. Recordings will include candidate introductions and their contact information. Follow up conversations between candidates and community members are encouraged.
9/20- This survey has been revised due to issues with the scroll function and to include one additional theme.
