Instructor Candidate Criteria
Those interested in becoming a TRIK instructor must meet the criteria set out by the TRIK Steering Committee:
- Must have participated in a TRIK provider course.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric trauma care as attending level team leader (either PEM, surgery or PICU)
- A curriculum vitae must accompany the application.
- A commitment to teach at one course per every 2 years and, whenever possible, within one year of the instructor candidate course.
- Simulation Education and Facilitation competency as evidenced by: A minimum if 1 yr of simulation experience.
AND at least one of the following:
- Formal Simulation Educator Instructor Certification (Accepted examples include: CHSE, simulation fellowship)
AND/OR
- *Demonstrate completion of simulation-based education course work: local/national synchronous simulation course(s)
AND/OR
self-development asynchronous online coursework

- Simulcast Self Development Modules : Particularly relevant to this course are the modules on Interprofessional Education, Debriefing questions, PEARLS, and Psychological Safety.
- Coursera : Essentials in Clinical Simulation across the Health Professions : A 7 module open access course that covers the foundations of clinical simulation.
